Double Post!

Been working on several things lately, but I wanted to make sure some Star Wars art was posted.  Not sure when I'll be able to finish this Boba Fett piece.  I ended up taking my time and really making sure all the details were the best I could make them on each of these, and I'm pleased with the turnouts.

Also, the EU doesn't count.  Boba Fett died in the Sarlac Pitt.

In Need of Anger Management

Yes, TMNT was, like, a week ago.
Yes, I already posted for that week.

But I mentioned I was working on a commission, so I suppose it's only fair to prove it.  I'm still learning what works on sketch covers and what doesn't, as far as techniques and tools go.

This was inspired by the famous Hulk 340 cover by Todd McFarlane.

Tank girl.

Love the series, kinda dug the movie. If you ever have a chance to see it, go for it. It is very 90's but I think everyone on here is a child of the nineties. I'm wicked late with this post. Its been crazy busy over here. Lots of projects and not enough time for anything else.

Yes it's a repost, but its also one of my favorite pieces I've ever done with marker so I didn't think I was gonna top it.

I just got back from Star Wars Celebration VI in Orlando, FL. So this theme fits perfect for this week. I'm a Chewbacca girl, but I wanted to draw his buddy Han Solo this week. I hope everyone enjoys him and everyone else in FL is ok during this crazy storm. I also recorded me drawing this piece all digital on my livestream account. So you can watch me draw this piece here :) So enjoy!

P.S. excuse the random cough attacks in this video. I was extremely sick. :P
P.S.S. Also my doctors piece is done. Will try to post it during Dragoncon, but if not I will have it posted for everyone by next wednesday :)

I've decided not to ink anything else on here for the time being because in all honesty I'm not ready to. This week I tried to really focus on the anatomy, its not perfect but I feel as if tho I'm getting closer. Feel free to comment and post suggestions on this week theme or any other weeks theme I have posted on. Part of the reason I'm here is to be criticized, and if my work is going to be torn apart, I want it to be torn apart by the best.

Tank Girl

Had this ready for a while, but just got back from a trip. I hope you all like her! :)

Nail Bat

I think tank girl is like the 80/90's version of hack slash, visually at least.

I'm not sure how you can really have a style drawing the turtles, I think my versions just look like everyone elses. I really love Ross Campbell's turtles where there colors were natural coloring and all of Peter Laird's stuff. I can't stand Eastman's squishy version, but like the covers Erik Larson did for the Image run.

I choose to do April O' Neil because girls are fun to draw. :P
Hope you guys like her :)

Leonardo has been my favorite turtle for awhile, I love the inks but the colors suck lol but oh well

Not the Railroad Hero...

I've recently picked up a TMNT commission of Raph and Casey.  My original plan was to post the pencils sometime this week, but I probably won't get started until late next week. But in the meantime,  I was refreshing myself with the characters today, and got so excited about drawing Casey Jones that I just had to sketch him out today.  A quick 30-45 min. pencil sketch, but a lot of fun to draw.

Also I came across the OTHER Casey Jones, when browsing Google.  Cool stuff:

Aliens VS Mushroom Kingdom

Aliens VS Mushroom Kingdom by: Switt!

Little late getting my entry in, but here ya go!

Aliens VS Mushroom Kingdom!

That lil secondary Alien mouth always reminded me of a Super Mario Brother's Pirahna Plant,

And every movie has a lil variation on the Aliens, soooooo...what if they hit the Mushroom Kindgom's sublevels?

Killing helpless Mushroom Kingdom folk left and right, wiping out all opposition, Koopa and Mushroom alike.

So here ya go! :D

Alien vs. Swamp Thing

Alien vs. the DC universe, I see Swamp Thing as one of the few who could stand a chance against the Xenomorphs. Could they impregnate a plant? It would be awesome in the great tradition of Alien vs _______ comics.

Aliens VS Superman

Dan Jurgens (Penciller) Kevin Nowlan (Inker) Larson James (Colors)

A perfect organism

I love the alien movies, even the 3rd (if you've seen the work print you know there is some greatness there), Resurrection sucks though.  So here is my alien piece, hopefully one day I'll get to do an alien book worthy of the films both in story and look.

So many details in these bad boys. These aliens always creeped me out. I don't usually draw monsters so this was a fun draw. :P

Temple Sandwich

Didn't like this piece as much but it's ok.

I hear his sidekick's name is "Take Names"

Another comic and movie I've never investigated.  From what I've heard of it, though, it sounds well-done but not really my type of thing.  Still, a good exercise of trying to do justice to a character I don't know too well.
I have to admit, I'm a big fan of doing splatter-y stuff whenever I can.  I don't think I've quite perfected the technique, but I get so excited when I get to do it!

Just Chill-in

Tried to have some fun with this, plus if I post another head shot James will shit his pants.

Oops, if you haven't read this book yet. Spoiler Alert.

Hit Girl

I decided to try drawing all digital ( even sketching); so I want to try to this  for each week from now on if I have time. I might even make her a print and add her to my sketchbook I'm printing. I think she turned out well. I love Hit Girl from Kickass so of course I chose her when I found out about this weeks theme. :)

-Kate Carleton

If you like my art also be sure to check out my kickstarter for my first sketchbook where I'll add some of these sketches in it. Trying to hit a personal goal of $1,000 in 11 days to make it soft bound.
