I'm an Artist, not a Doctor!

As part of the inkwash headshots I've been doing, I've been working on a bunch of Star Trek ones, from each of the series.  While I'm not a fan of the original series at all, Bones was always one of my favorite Star Trek characters.  I always thought it was funny how Kelley and Nimoy both aged very well in look and voice, while Shatner just got chubby.

Double Post!

Been working on several things lately, but I wanted to make sure some Star Wars art was posted.  Not sure when I'll be able to finish this Boba Fett piece.  I ended up taking my time and really making sure all the details were the best I could make them on each of these, and I'm pleased with the turnouts.

Also, the EU doesn't count.  Boba Fett died in the Sarlac Pitt.

In Need of Anger Management

Yes, TMNT was, like, a week ago.
Yes, I already posted for that week.

But I mentioned I was working on a commission, so I suppose it's only fair to prove it.  I'm still learning what works on sketch covers and what doesn't, as far as techniques and tools go.

Not the Railroad Hero...

I've recently picked up a TMNT commission of Raph and Casey.  My original plan was to post the pencils sometime this week, but I probably won't get started until late next week. But in the meantime,  I was refreshing myself with the characters today, and got so excited about drawing Casey Jones that I just had to sketch him out today.  A quick 30-45 min. pencil sketch, but a lot of fun to draw.

Another comic and movie I've never investigated.  From what I've heard of it, though, it sounds well-done but not really my type of thing.  Still, a good exercise of trying to do justice to a character I don't know too well.
I have to admit, I'm a big fan of doing splatter-y stuff whenever I can.  I don't think I've quite perfected the technique, but I get so excited when I get to do it!

Purrrr-fecting My Craft

Yes, I'm technically late, but no art for the next theme have been posted yet, so at least I'm not sticking out.  I saw the movie and loved it, but I'm not here to talk about that.  Of the few drawings I've posted, this is most definitely my favorite.  I feel like I'm progressing with 1) Likenesses, and 2) inkwash technique.  Still, practice makes purrr-fect.

Absent Friends

See, when the theme was said to be "The Amazing Spider-Man," I presumed it was in reference to the movie that just came out, rather than the character in general.  Oh well.  I'll be honest with you, I had higher hopes for this drawing.  I tried to get it to look like Emma Stone, and I had a cool idea for the rain (like in the scene from the film <GASP> spoiler alert!).  But I reached that point when you know that if you do anything else to the drawing, you won't help it.  Still, I like how the jacket, scarf, and glove turned out.

Marko the Lombard

And I'm the not-cool one that never heard of Saga until I was told about this week's theme.  I'm a big fan of Vaughn, though, so the book interested me.  Anyway, I thought Marko's look would be a lot of fun to take a crack at.  Ram horns are a cool shape, but very tough to understand when you're drawing them.  I bet being a hair-stylist on his planet must be pretty difficult...
